Dr. Michele McCay has worked with public health initiatives that focus on the diverse issues that affect women, children, and families including chronic diseases, affordable healthcare, smoking prevention, and perinatal mental health issues. Issues related to maternal and child health such as birth outcome disparities, support and assistance during childbirth, and program administration for impoverished communities are her area of expertise. Addressing global maternal and child health issues has become a growing area of interest and she has recently completed work in Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Angola, Kenya, and Uganda. In all of her international travels, Dr. McCay works to include her students in the experiences.
